Damp air, dust and the smell that comes back
A closed-up Conroe house lives with humidity for most of the year, and a standard air conditioner was built to cool the air, not to clean it or dry it out. Homeowners notice the symptoms before they know the cause: a musty smell when the system starts, dust that returns a day after cleaning, a bathroom that never quite dries, or a room that feels clammy at a comfortable temperature.
A basic one-inch filter catches the largest particles and little else. When the air in a house is moving through ductwork with dust in it and moisture around it, the fix is rarely a bigger air freshener. It is treating the air where it travels, which is inside the duct and at the return.
