The afternoon the air stops being cold
A Conroe summer asks an air conditioner to run for hours at a stretch, so when something weakens you notice it fast. Vents that blow warm or barely cool air. A house that never quite reaches the setpoint. An outdoor unit that hums while the fan sits still. A system that starts, quits, and starts again every few minutes.
Behind those symptoms the list of usual suspects is short. A worn capacitor or contactor keeps the compressor or condenser fan from starting. A low refrigerant charge, usually from a leak, leaves the indoor coil too warm to pull heat out of the air, or ices it over. A dirty coil or a choked filter starves the system of airflow. And a worn compressor will eventually stop pumping altogether.
From the thermostat all of these look the same, which is why guessing gets expensive. Swapping parts on a hunch costs money and leaves the real cause in place, so the first job on any cooling call is to find the actual fault.
Four steps, then a flat price
Every air conditioning call at Reliable Air & Heat runs the same four steps. System Evaluation: we inspect the system, the airflow and the performance. Clear Recommendations: we explain what we found and lay out the repair or replacement options. Professional Service: our technicians do the work using proven HVAC best practices. Final Testing: we verify proper cooling, efficiency and safe operation before we leave.
The price is upfront, straight forward and flat rate, with no hourly charges and no surprises, so you know the number before any work begins. When the answer is a new system, we install American Standard, where we are a Preferred Dealer, and SureComfort, and we can offer a few other brands. For a room or addition that needs ductless cooling, we install Mitsubishi. We also service all major brands, so a unit someone else installed is not a problem.
Same day service is available, and so is emergency after-hours service when a system quits at night. The shop line at 936-890-8991 is staffed from 7 AM to 9 PM Monday through Friday and 7 AM to 7 PM on Saturday. We work under Texas licence TACLB28011E and have served Conroe, The Woodlands, Magnolia, Willis and the rest of Montgomery County since 2009.
What a skipped tune-up costs in August
Dirt on a condenser coil, a weak capacitor and a slow refrigerant leak all get worse with run time. A system that skipped its spring service goes into the hottest weeks already working harder than it should, and the first sign is often a failure on the hottest day of the year, when every other homeowner in the county is calling too.
You can tell a system needs another look when cycles run longer than they used to, when one room lags behind the rest, when water shows up around the indoor unit, or when a new rattle, hum or burning smell appears. None of those fix themselves, and the earlier they are caught, the smaller the repair tends to be.
Our Loyalty Club is built around that rhythm. The Plus tier brings a 21 Point Inspection twice a year, 15% off repairs, $500 off a system replacement and priority status, and the program carries a 2 Year Labor Warranty Guarantee. The details are on the maintenance page.
