The room the ductwork never reached
Every Conroe house has one. The room over the garage that sits ten degrees warmer than the hallway, the sunroom added after the original system was sized, the garage turned into an office, or the bedroom a remodel opened up so the old supply run no longer lands where the furniture is. The central system was never designed to carry that space, and no amount of closing other vents will fix it.
Extending a duct trunk into a finished room usually means opening ceilings and walls, and a long, undersized run only delivers a trickle of air at the far end. A ductless mini-split skips all of that. An outdoor condenser connects to an indoor unit on the wall through a small line set, and that one room gets its own heating and cooling on its own thermostat.
