Why the far bedroom never matches the thermostat
Every bit of cooling or heat your equipment makes still has to travel through ductwork before it reaches a room, and in a Conroe attic that ductwork lives in one of the harshest spots in the house. Summer attic air sits far above the temperature of the rooms below it, and flex duct that has been kinked during a remodel, a boot that pulled loose from its register, or a return that was undersized the day the house was built can quietly cancel out a unit that is running exactly as designed.
The symptoms show up inside the house, not in the attic. One end of the home runs warmer than the rest no matter where the thermostat is set. A register at the end of a long run gives you barely a trickle. The system runs longer than it used to on a similar day, and the bill follows. Owners usually blame the air conditioner, and the air conditioner is often innocent.
